The median price for a home in Sandy Springs is $389,000. Although real estate in Sandy Springs is generally characterized by grand estates on large wooded lots, the city also has its share of starter homes.
The western district of Riverside, bordering the Chattahoochee River, is an upscale neighborhood known for its large estates on Riverside Drive. Sandy Springs boasts one of the wealthiest zip codes in the country, 30327, where residents have an average household income of almost $210,000.
Newly incorporated Sandy Springs doesn't have a typical downtown area, but city planners are in the midst of developing a town center with municipal buildings and additional retail. Traffic can be a real challenge here and the addition of new roads is also on the city agenda.
Roswell Road, the city's primary business district, is where many of the area high-rises are situated. Just south of here are the prominent Northside Hospital and Saint Joseph's Hospital. Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, ranked in the top three pediatic facilities in the country, is here as well. A number of Fortune 500 companies make their home in Sandy Springs, including United Parcel Service, Newell Rubbermaid, Mirant Corporation and AT&T.
